Manuela Fensore has confirmed her title as Queen of Latte Art and Marco Poidomani has won the Italian Coffee in Good Spirits Championship

SIGEP Rimini

Celebrations for the CIGS and CILA finals at SIGEP Rimini where all eyes were on the RS1.

The curtain has just come down on the Italian Baristas Championships which held centre stage at SIGEP Rimini. As the official sponsor, the Rancilio Specialty RS1 competed alongside the would-be CILA and CIGS champions throughout the events, where it proved to be well prepared for the Sca competitions and looked extremely elegant under the spotlights, all dressed in steel.
Manuela Fensore won the Italian Latte Art 2019 Championship and carried off the title for the second year running. At the end of a high profile final round, the barista was ahead of Matteo Beluffi and Pietro Vannelli, who came second and third. The runners up were: Carmen Clemente, Eva Palma and Alessandro Zengiaro.
Manuela’s exhibition convinced the judges and public alike. Technique, creativity, a steady hand and accuracy, along with a series of memorable designs and the Rancilio Specialty RS1: these are the factors which determined her success and enabled her to return to the top of the champion’s podium at SIGEP.
The best coffee-based cocktails prepared on the Rancilio Specialty RS1 were those of Marco Poidomani who was awarded first prize, having outclassed Andrea Villa, Gianmarco Grassini and Rossella Musarra in the finals. “I was lucky to get the chance to practise on the RS1 and immediately felt in sync with the machine” commented Marco Poidomani at the end of the prize-giving ceremony. “Its extraction quality was decisive in the finals”.
Both winners received their awards from Andrea Mascetti, Sales Director of Rancilio Group, along with a plaque and a Rancilio Silvia, the iconic machine from the Rancilio Group Home line.
With these victories, Manuela Fensore and Marco Poidomani have qualified for the world finals due to take place at the World of Coffee in Berlin next June. For all the others, there will be further opportunities to improve their skills and challenge the champions.
