Our company headquarters, which was opened in 1972 in Italy, not far from Milan, extends over a surface area of 70,000 square metres. Consistent with its corporate policy, down through the years Rancilio has obtained ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 certifications, fruit of a voluntary and responsible choice to improve the organization of its integrated quality-environment-safety management system.

Today, Rancilio is expanding constantly and the brand is recognized as a leader on the market for traditional coffee machines, with 87% of its sales turnover deriving from exports. In 2008, thanks to the acquisition of the Swiss company Egro Coffee Systems AG, Rancilio also started to operate in the business of super automatic coffee machines. Rancilio addresses the market as an International group thanks to a distribution network of over 1050 distributors and assistance centres, as well as 5 sales branches, opened down through the years with the aim of effecting a more strategic control over local markets, in Chicago (USA), Barcelona (Spain), Lisbon and Porto (Portugal), Dottikon (Switzerland) and Neu-Isenburg (Germany). Today, Rancilio pursues its course without ever losing sight of its objectives and keenly aware that it is now, in the present, that we have to earn our future rewards.
Starting from Egro has been renowned for its extraordinary know-how in the design and manufacture of fully automatic machines since 1934. Its technological soul is behind the "Swiss Coffee Technology" pay-off, an absolute guarantee of Helvetic professional excellence in the development of highly automated products.

Then production began on the Metallwarenfabrik Egloff machine, and reconfirmed the pioneering and forward-thinking spirit of a company that based its roots in an excellent understanding of the properties of aluminium and tin. A new and important product joined the Egro range in 1972: the “Micado” fully-automatic coffee machine. Excellent technical know-how and a total commitment to the finest quality fuelled a stream of new and completely unique solutions: this is what is behind increasingly more advanced and sophisticated technologies. Egro is the only manufacturer of a patented system characterized by the differentiated sizes of the brewing chambers which became the beating heart of the technology in these highly sophisticated machines. Rancilio publishes its first Code of Ethics aimed at regulating and aligning the company approach towards all of its stakeholders: employees, customers, suppliers, institutional bodies, communities and the local territory, as well as the environment.

Rancilio Group is pleased to announce that the company has recently joined the Ali Group, a leading global designer, manufacturer, marketer and servicer of a broad line of commercial and institutional foodservice equipment.
Rancilio Group publishes its first Sustainability Report under the title BEATS, a metaphor that chimes with the rhythm of the company's everyday activity based on listening and paying attention to its stakeholders, with the aim of sharing not only the financial rewards of the group, but also the long journey to achieve them.

From the Portuguese headquarters in Lisbon, a new office is opened in the city of Porto.
The innovative KRYO 65 grinder-doser is also available as an on-demand version.

The Classe 9 USB Xcelsius is awarded the silver medal at the 25th edition of the EID prize, organised by the prestigious Appliance Design magazine.
The takeover of Egro Coffee Systems AG is completed. Rancilio Group completes its product line in coffee machines and initiates a process of unifying its commercial and production strategies. The Italian company's historical collection is also enriched by the models created by Egro, a brand recognised internationally as being synonymous with high performance and reliability in the field of superautomatic products. The company undergoes a renovation of the sales offices and the Italian department of research and development. Production begins
for two new products: Classe 9 and Classe 7 are added to the top of the range Classe 10. Rancilio LAB develops Xcelsius, a revolutionary technology for the temperature profiling of the brewing water for espresso coffee. Thanks to the use of Xcelsius in the Classe 9 USB model, the innovative machine is deemed to comply with the testing standards set by the technical committee of the WCE. The KRYO 65 grinder-doser is unveiled, the first to have an exclusive cooling system in the grinding chamber.

"Rancilio macchine per caffè S.p.A." changes its name. "Rancilio Group S.p.A." is unveiled to consolidate the company's strategic approach towards the goals of strengthening the leadership of the group at the global level. A photovoltaic system is installed on the roof of the production facility, boasting coverage of 8,000 sq. metres of solar panels produced in Europe, with a production of around half a megawatt of energy per year.
The company opens 'Officina Rancilio 1926', the first museum opened by an Italian company in the coffee machine industry.

Rancilio acquires the majority stake in Egro Coffee Systems. This represents a defining step in the growth and development of the group. A branch company is opened in Lisbon.

BYO is the new Egro branded fully-automatic machine offering users the possibility to interface with the coffee machine through tablet or smartphone.
Egro product lines change over from a trolley system to a flow system with significant improvements in terms of performance and quality.

The superautomatic Egro ZERO is unveiled. Its size has been adapted for small-medium consumers but does not compromise in producing high quality hot drinks.
A new headquarters is established for the Swiss subsidiary at Dottikon (Aargau) and for the Egro LAB technological hub.
The flagship product ONE is combined with an innovative external module that is fully integrated into the machine and enables the preparation of hot or fondant chocolate with the use of several powders.
ONE is awarded the bronze medal for its technological and style features at the Excellence in Design Awards.
ONE is the first product to come out of the synergies between the research and development departments of Rancilio and Egro. It boasts a next generation touch screen user interface, exceptional performance; it is incredibly compact and is the ultimate in design and ergonomics. This is the superautomatic from Egro.
Egro Coffee Systems becomes a part of the Rancilio Group.
A year marked by strong innovation. Rancilio LAB is born, a technological hub specialising in the development of solutions for the preparation of traditional espresso coffee. At the same time, the leading product - the Classe 10 - is revamped, both aesthetically and functionally: brilliant bronze-coloured sandblasted aluminium panels and a large graphic display for improved user interaction.
The Classe 10 is the first Rancilio machine to incorporate USB technology. Logos, phrases, and settings can be uploaded quickly, allowing the barista new personalisation possibilities.
Rancilio takes a minority stake in the Swiss company Egro Coffee Systems. Rancilio's strategies are further expanded to allow the company to enter new markets, such as superautomatic machines.
In keeping with the company tradition, Rancilio reiterates its commitment to social and environmental protection by achieving important targets such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification, in order to better organise and monitor the company's internal environmental management systems.

As happened in 1999, the structure of the business is expanded and a Spanish branch company is opened in Barcelona. Classe 8 and Classe 6 are released alongside the flagship Classe 10.
Official release date of the first edition of one of Rancilio's flagship products: the Classe 10 is launched on the international market, meeting with enormous success.
A branch company is established in Woodridge (Chicago, Illinois), emphasising the company's internationalisation.
This operation guarantees a timely support service throughout the entire United States and Canada. A new model for professionals is released: the Epoca.
The new millennium is just around the corner. Rancilio's answer to consumer demands in the latter half of the Nineties is encapsulated perfectly in the traditional espresso machine, Millennium. With between two and four brewing groups, and the body in green, silver or red, it is available in the electronic version with or without a display and in semiautomatic.
The company released the Silvia, one of the most popular domestic espresso machines in the world.
Giorgio, Roberto, Silvia and Luca - the third generation of Rancilio - continue the business, which has been running since 1927.
The mass market is graced by the Rocky grinder-doser, a winning accessory for achieving the perfect coffee, whether at home or in the bar.
The S20 range is released. Simple and robust, there are a wide range of versions, from compact coffee machines to those that are designed to have the maximum distance between the brewing groupsand the drip tray, underlining the international spirit of the Italian company.
Production of the Z11 begins. Designed by Bruno Rossio, it is the first Rancilio coffee machine with an electronic display used to count the number operators authorised to use the machine (up to a maximum of 11 users) and a timer. During these years, the company's product range is diversified more than ever before: in addition to professional coffee machines and the small household coffee machines of the Miss range, Rancilio continues to market grinder-dosersand cup washers, while even ice-making machines are introduced to the market.
The Miss Rancilio series is born: coffee machines designed for making quality hot drinks at home.
The S10 is born, a product characterised by robust and durable materials. Marketed in 3 versions: electronic, semiautomatic and lever.
After becoming a joint-stock company, under the management of Antonietto and Romano, Rancilio decides to further expand its warehousing space by streamlining its manufacturing facility.
Building on the success of the Z8, Marco Zanuso designs the equally successful Z9. Both machines stand out for their eye-catching colours and use of plastic. They reflect the cultural and design climate of the era. Zanuso's research is extensive and takes in all aspects of the machine, from the aesthetic to the productive. Z8 and Z9 are two enormously successful models that very soon are brought onto the international market, from the United States to Australia, in South America and in many European countries.
The first model in the coffee grinder series in the MD line arrives on the market.
Following years of intense work, the doors of the new production headquarters in Villastanza in the district of Parabiago are opened. In this facility, the first assembly line is to be installed, along with electroplating and coating systems. It also begins a product diversification process with the commercialisation of grinder-dosers and cup washing machines.

Production of the last model to be created at the workshop at Via Don Galeazzi 22. Designed by celebrated Milanese designer Marco Zanuso, the Z8 also represents the first Rancilio product in the brewing coffee machine category. The water for the coffee comes directly from the main water supply, is softened through a purifier and then pressurised by a volumetric pump, heated by a heat exchanger and finally sent through the ground coffee in the brewing group.

Senior Line, High Line, GM and MG are commercialised from the early '60s. This period also sees the development of the Gruppo Riserva GRS, a device that enables the brewing of a milder coffee and can keep up to 3 litres of coffee in a special Pyrex glass container for quick distribution into pots of any size. The national distribution network now boasts 32 agencies and Rancilio products are exported to 21 countries.
The company began to experiment by using new materials, including plastic, which, due to its flexibility and lightness, offers inspiring interesting aesthetic and formal ideas. The company image becomes increasingly specialised and linked to the changing of social customs. Rancilio collaborates once more with Giovanni Travasa, leading to the creation, in 1957, of the Ducale model, produced in various different versions, with 1 to 4 groupheads, automatic and lever, to satisfy every kind of client.

The three sons of the founder, Nino, Antonietto and Romano take the reins of the family business.

The first illustrious collaboration with external designers. Architect and fellow local man Giovanni Travasa designed the Alpina model, a lever coffee machine with a brewing group.

In addition to the by-now well established double-R, the word "officina" disappeared from the name, leaving only the company name RANCILIO, signifying the transition from an artisan's workshop to a modern business.

The Preziosa coffee machine was produced in various sized models ranging from 1 to 4 groupheads and a "mini" version called Mignon, all of which were powered by electricity, gas or methane.

Rancilio created the first lever coffee machine: the Fortuna model, while still displaying a vertical expansion, adopted a new system patented by the Milanese company Gaggia in 1948.

In addition to the Ottagonale, Graziosa and Invicta models, the Ideale appeared first as a vertical version and subsequently as a horizontal set-up. The Ideale is characterised by a simple and minimalist shape and the considerable attention that had gone into the logo: the name of the manufacturer is placed on the side of the machine that faces the customer, with a typeface that truly embodies the fashion of the day.

New mechanical advances led Roberto Rancilio to submit an important patent for improvements in the maintenance and technology of his products.

Official date on which Roberto Rancilio's mechanical workshop started business at the Milan Chamber of Commerce.
Two versions of the La Regina model were built. The founder's care for design was the catalyst for the development of 3 new models: Ottagonale, Graziosa and Invicta.
The Ottagonale truly reflected the art deco spirit that so characterised the Thirties. The other two machines were developed according to the criteria of simplicity and geometric lines, giving the brand a high visibility. In recent years, the first adverts have been rediscovered, in which Rancilio emphasised the importance of the barista, who would no longer play a marginal role but would come to the fore: a true protagonist of the bar, a man of learning who is dedicated to the entertainment of guests.

In addition to innovative mechanical solutions, La Regina stands out for the aesthetic attention to detail and brand image. 
The "double-R" logo was born.
The company enters a joint venture with the Italian company Rancilio.
Egro patents an exceptional milk system with a fully automatic washing action. This innovation guarantees the highest standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the distribution lines of the
milk system.
The company then opens a representative office in Hong Kong in order to provide a more suitable and reliable service in the region.
Egro establishes a subsidiary in Weikersheim in Germany.
Egro creates the first version of the superautomatic Serie 50 machine, designed initially as Spirit. It is ideal for small spaces and has a tasteful and functional design.
The technological development of the superautomatic machines continues: Egro patents its double infusion chamber system, which enables the brewing of a supreme quality coffee. The Arco is born, better known recently in the Horeca market as Serie 70.
The Comtesse is created. Elegant and harmonious in design, it allows a brewing equivalent to 220 cups per hour. The Rock version has a granite colour, highlighting the robustness and long service life of the product.
Egro creates the fastest superautomatic coffee machine in the world, patenting an extremely innovative new grinding, infusion and brewing system. Then comes Vitesse, which will subsequently take its place in history as Serie 90, designed for high-consumption bars. It could be fitted with 3 containers of ground coffee for the use of different blends.

Egro launches Compact onto the market: a superautomatic coffee machine standing out for its compact size and professional performance. Available in several colours and able to be built in a modular fashion in order to adapt to locations with a medium-high daily consumption rate.
The first completely automatic coffee machine with electronic process control is produced: the AMC is now a reality.
Egro Coffee Systems AG presents to the pubblic the self-service version of the model Micado.
The company undergoes a name change: from EGLOFF, it becomes EGRO. The name is formed by the abbreviations EG (Egloff) and RO (Rohrdorf) to emphasise the deep bonds of the company to the surrounding area. The company sells its 1,000th coffee machine and the internationalisation process of the Swiss brand intensifies as it pushes into the Asian market.
New international partners such as Japan and Hong Kong are added to the well established German and Dutch markets.
Marabu is designed for fast service, particularly buffet breakfasts. The name is justified by the high dispensing capacity of between 15 and 35 litres of filter coffee per hour, depending on the selected version.
The Micado is released, the first entirely automatic coffee machine. Characterised by the complete integration of the grinding process, the Micado features a steam nozzle and a hot water nozzle.
The workforce continues to grow and grow. The coffee machine industry accounts for 17% of the company's annual turnover.
The Domino model is produced in various versions and with technological improvements until 1994: a genuine milestone in the history of the Swiss company.
Production begins of the Reginetta, a small coffee machine with high performance. With one or two lever or automatic groupheads, it can be fitted with a stainless steel and glass container to keep the filter coffee at the right temperature and preserve the aromas.
The company from Niederrohrdorf released a new model: Regina, a name highlighting its feminine identity and which, coincidentally, is also related to the Rancilio brand.
After the end of the Second World War, the Swiss factory produced three new hit products: Supra III, Express II and Media.
The arts of infusion and percolation are brought together in a single model: the Supra II. Simple and versatile, it enables the dispensing of large quantities of filter coffee and a fast preparation time for espresso coffee. Its robust and solid materials guarantee a long service life.
The company's range now boasts a number of products including the outstanding "record" model, designed for producing filter coffee in large quantities. The boiler is positioned outside the machine and can be powered either by gas or electricity. With an outlet for hot water and steam, the Rekord has a receptacle for excellent filter coffee produced at high pressure.
Express Junior is released alongside the pioneering Supra I. Featuring a 4-litre gas-heated boiler and an innovative steam and hot water nozzle, which can be fed from a water tap, the Express Junior is the first coffee machine that works by percolation under high pressure from hot water and steam.
Supra I is created: the first coffee machine made by the Swiss company and designed for large catering services. Heated by gas and fitted with a steam nozzle, a hot water tap and an adjustable cup tray that are ahead of their time, Supra I features an exclusive filtration system for making so-called filter coffee.
