On October 4, 2025, The Barista League: Africa will take place in Johannesburg, bringing together talent, innovation, and community in an evening dedicated to coffee.
On stage, twenty of the region’s leading baristas will compete with the Rancilio Specialty Invicta for the title of the first-ever Barista League champions in Africa. Designed to deliver reliability, power, and consistency, the Invicta will be a valuable tool for these ambitious baristas as they take on the competition’s demanding coffee challenges. Guided by a distinguished panel of judges—Leroy Kgopa, Stevo Kuhn, Dario Scilipoti, Retha Van Rhijn, and Obakeng “Tiny” Tshabalala—the event promises a showcase of skill and creativity at the highest level.
At the Rancilio Specialty booth, visitors can join the interactive “Guess the Temperature Profile” game with the Rancilio Specialty RS1, putting their knowledge of coffee brewing to the test. Alongside games, excellent food, and the chance to participate as a Mystery Judge, the event offers engaging experiences for both professionals and enthusiasts in the coffee community.
