On June 11, Rancilio Specialty and The Barista League invite coffee enthusiasts to Adrift in Tokyo for the new edition of The Barista League: Asia.
At the center of the action will be the Rancilio Specialty RS1, supporting six teams of talented baristas in a fast-paced coffee competition. Thanks to its Advanced Temperature Profiling technology, competitors will craft exceptional coffee-based drinks while being evaluated on concept, service, and product quality. Esteemed judges Yasuo Ishii, Thuy Nguyen (Gwen), Shinsaku Fukayama, Boram Um, and Miki Suzuki will assess not only beverage quality, but also storytelling, presentation, and the overall guest experience.
Beyond the competition, guests will have the opportunity to visit the Rancilio Specialty booth and test their coffee knowledge and sensory skills using the RS1 espresso machine. The “Guess the Temperature Profile” game showcases how changing the water temperature during extraction can create two completely different flavor profiles from the same coffee bean, offering participants a fun and immersive experience.
Set in the heart of Shimokitazawa — Tokyo’s vibrant and bohemian neighbourhood — the new season promises greater production value and wider participation, bringing together coffee professionals, enthusiasts, and competitors from across Asia.
